As Hange is forced to lead Floch to Zeke's location, they hear the explosion of the Thunder Spear and decide to go investigate. As Zeke dies, a female Titan approaches him and puts him into her stomach while Zeke sees a vision of a girl. Yelena holds the Paradis government hostage with the threat of turning them into Titans with Zeke's spinal fluids, allowing the Marleyan volunteers to take over. Yelena explains Zeke and Eren's plan to the imprisoned Survey Corps members: a widespread Eldian euthanasia will prevent the births of any more subjects of Ymir until the death of Historia's child, after which humanity will be free from the threat of Titans. To prevent interference from other nations, they will use the threat of the Rumbling to keep them away from Paradis. Eren meets with Gabi, but is interrupted by Pieck. Pieck pledges her loyalty to the Jaegerists under the belief that the Marleyans need to be punished for how they treated the Eldian people, and she agrees to sell out her compatriots to Eren. However, Pieck's betrayal is revealed to be a trap when Galliard ambushes Eren in an attempt to eat him, forcing him to transform and revealing his location to Marleyan airships descending on Paradis. Eren challenges Reiner and the Marleyan army to war.
