Alcia is a world administered by "Tally": numbers engraved on an individual's body, addressing any number identified with their life. These Counts decide an individual's societal position and force in Alcia. On the off chance that a Count contacts zero, the individual is shipped off the Abyss, a spot reputed to be more awful than death. Hina, a voyager whose Count depends on the distance she voyaged, saw her mom get hauled down into the Abyss. Resolved to satisfy her mom's last wishes, she sets off on an excursion looking for the unbelievable Aces—saints of the war that happened 300 years back, bearing a white star close to their Count. While meandering around, Hina experiences Licht Bach, a secretive concealed man with negative Count, and Nana, the proprietor of a bar. Amidst making some great memories, Hina is fooled into a fight with a military trooper. In any case, notwithstanding his negative check, Licht salvages Hina and uncovers that he has another tally, one with a white star, one of an unbelievable Ace.
